Do Something
Do something. Don't ignore it. Don't procrastinate. Don't wait for it to go away. Even if you don't know exactly WHAT to do, do something. This applies to the angry phone message, the teacher/teacher conflict, the report that is due next week....waiting usually makes it worse or harder and you risk looking like you don't know what to do, won't take charge to do anything, or simply don't care.....is any one of these options okay for a leader?
Dropout Prevention
First, your team has to care. Know students' faces with names. Pay attention to individuals rather than just numbers. Then the conversations will have meaning and the interventions will work.
